Passengers will be able to take advantage of discount tickets to the South African cities of Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban for travel through April 30.
The "leap year sale" means that tickets must be booked by February 29.
Prices from JFK start at $803, flights from Washington start at $853 and journeys from Chicago start at $908. All prices are round-trip and do not include taxes or charges.
Marc Cavaliere, Executive Vice-President of North America for South African Airways, commented: "Leap years were added to the calendar in order to keep calendars working correctly.
"An escape to South Africa - whether for a safari, or to relax in majestic Cape Town's expansive wine estates and the city's breathtaking views - is just as necessary for correcting the soul. At just $803(a), our 'leap fares' make it easy to just leap on over."
A minimum five-day stay is required and tickets are available to book online or over the phone on 1-800-722-09675.
